We are proud to be a Demonstrating Quality center recognized through the state’s quality rating system (formerly 5-Star rated) and committed to excellence in early childhood education. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, educational, and consistent environment for children and families. The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children. These materials were developed under a grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP). Research on preschool programs, including GSRP, indicates that children provided with a high-quality preschool experience show significant positive developmental differences compared to children from the same backgrounds who did not attend a high-quality preschool program. To strengthen learning at home and improve positive child outcomes, this classroom fosters an active, continuous partnership with families in the learning process. Through advisory committees, families assist in evaluating the program and making recommendations.
